			Welcome to our Wool Rug Gallery Visit our Custom Wool Rug Gallery to see a selection of custom order 100% wool rugs handwoven at El Jorongo since 1970. The wide range of designs handloomed by our expert weavers include traditional Purhépecha patterns from our Michoacán area, reproductions of antique Saltillo and Navajo museum pieces and Contemporary patterns. We have also handwoven rugs based on paintings and from designs conceived by interior decorators and designers. We hand-dye a wide variety of rich colors using both plants and aniline dyes and guarantee that the colors will not run when cleaned. For those working with a certain range of colors we can dye our wool to match samples sent to us. Our local Criollo wool can be spun and woven in thicknesses from one-ply up to 12-ply to create exactly the rug you need. Size is not a problem as we can weave a rug in one piece up to 15 feet wide and it can be any length. You may specify any size you like for either one of our traditional designs or a Custom Design. You may send us as many designs as you like for FREE cost estimates. Please take into account that more complicated rug designs take more time to handweave and therefore tend to cost more whereas simpler designs will be less. The size and weight of the rug also influence the cost. We will get back to you within 24 hours with a delivery time and cost estimate for each of your designs. The time lapse for delivery would be from 2 to 6 weeks. We will put our 36 years of experience to work to make sure that your rug is perfect.

					An interesting example of Navajo weavers copying Persian designs in the 1800's. This rug has been woven by Jose Servin for El Jorongo customers in both 4-ply and 8-ply wool. The 8-ply gives a thicker rug whereas the 4-ply allows for finer detail in the patterns.

RIO GRANDE REPLICA WAS $400 FOR 5' X 7' The original of this Rio Grande replica was brought to us to duplicate by a customer whose father bought it back in the days when both a horse and this rug were worth a silver dollar. We repaired the rug using wool dyed to duplicate the aged look of the rug and then Jose, our master weaver, wove this exact replica.
