Noche de Muertos conmemora a los seres queridos que han ido por delante. El día primero de noviembre se acuerdan a los angelitos que se fueron y el día 2 a los adultos. En la Isla de Janitzio en el Lago de Pátzcuaro, en el capital antiguo de los Purhepecha que es Tzintzuntsan, en Ihuatzio y muchos pueblos más de Michoacán se arreglan las tumbas con ofrendas, flores y los alimentos preferidos de los difuntos presientiendo que esa noche regresaron sus almas.
